This 16 module course is designed to prepare ministry directors and pastors for the work of leading volunteers in children's and youth ministry. Called invests in the shepherds, equipping them to develop disciple-makers in the church.
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2 NIV
This flexible course contains 16, 1 month modules. Each month, one module is offered so as to provide community for learning engagement. Each module follows the same pattern:
Week One: Video (50 minutes of directive teaching)
Week Two: Reading Assignment with written Response
Week Three: Video (50 minutes of directive teaching)
Week Four: Reading Assignment with written Response
Students can expect to spend 2-4 hours of work for each lecture hour, for an estimated total of 6-10 hours per one month module.
Every module contains two sessions. The first session addresses the theological understanding of the topic. It answers "why we do what we do." The second session provides practical application of the biblical truth. Per session, expect:
*50 minutes of directive teaching by steaming video
*Assigned work (Scripture study, blog or book reading, or a podcast)
*Written response & Assessment (either as part of a community forum or online quiz)
Called to Lead can be completed in a two year period, and culminates in a certificate of Family Ministry Leadership.
Scope and Sequence
